My first visit to Dr Basnar’s office was in December of 2003. My referral to his office came from a rather unusual source. My oldest son had been at a friend’s house and had been impressed by an unknown dentist who had been talking with his friend’s father trying to get just the right shade on a crown for an unidentified patient. Yep, it turned out that the concerned dentist was none other than Dr. Cary P. Basnar. My entire family now trusts him and his staff with our dental care.
Traci, Kathy, and Sindy were among his staff back in 2003 and are there today. Traci never fails to put a smile on your face when you call or go in. She always seems to go above and beyond when trying to get my crazy schedule and theirs to work. Kathy pretty much “runs” the office and never fails to give me the grief I undoubtedly deserve… but in such a pleasant way! Sindy is Dr. Basnar’s dental assistant who gets me ready for the doctor’s ministrations. Wendi is the caring lady who does her best to try and scrape my gnarly teeth and very gently shows me where I can improve when it comes to oral hygiene.
Yes, dental procedures can be costly. Especially after years of neglect due to a lack of childhood education on proper tooth care. However, I have never felt denigrated or embarrassed by these people due to the condition of my teeth. I still have a long way to go but Dr. Basnar has always been willing to take things at the pace I dictate. Of course he doesn’t hesitate to tell me when I’m off track and suggest something that is sometimes just plain dumb. I guess that’s a part of what I pay him for. I am pleased to see that Dr. Basnar is reaching out to young adults and their children. I wish I had been able to grow up with that kind of care.
